Our group is active locally and nationally and covers towns in East Lancashire including Accrington, Blackburn, Burnley, Clitheroe, Colne, Hyndburn, Pendle and Rossendale. We had a successful year of activism in 2009, organizing local protests and joining in with national rallies against Trident Replacement, American military bases, the weaponization of space, and the war in Afghanistan. Such grass-roots activism is essential in our area to provide an alternative voice to recent government policy. For a full history of our activities in the last year please download our ELCND Annual Report.
We adopted a new constitution at our AGM in February 2010, elected the committee, and made plans for the next 12 months. For more information about our plans please download the post-AGM 2010 letter to our members.
After the 2010 General Election we still have campaigning to do to persuade new and re-elected MPs to support nuclear disarmament, and encourage the public to contact them and voice their opinions. We have events planned throughout the year, so please visit Roy St.Pierre’s web site to keep up-to-date. Our latest ELCND summer 2010 letter provides details about our latest plans
If you live in the East Lancashire region and wish to join our group please download ourELCND membership form and post it to our treasurer at the address provided. Thank you!
